About me:
My first piece of work was at the age of three when I drew my sister in bed with Influenza. My Mother was so taken by the details I had included that she never stopped encouraging me to pursue those talents. Thus recognized by my small community of friends and family, I was afforded the opportunity to avoid other elective classes and pursue a strict diet of art by attending Cass Tech high, and classes at the Detroit Institute of Arts. With continued mentoring from artists such as Bernardo Fernandez, Rory Tennenbaum, and Sergio Degusti at Wayne State University, as well as instructors at Kendall College of Art and Design, I have continually honed my craft. At the age of 50, I left all other pursuits and a professional career, to paint and draw full time as an artist. These works are from the past several years and represent an exploration which will hopefully culminate in works that will be my own singular style.
If you are interested in any of my pieces, would like to discuss commissions, or simply wish to chat, please contact me at:
The studio and gallery were built in 2004, just prior to, and in anticipation of, my transition from the business world to that of fine arts. It is located in western Michigan and is surrounded by oak and pine woods which add much to the creative process. The gallery is private in nature but all are welcome by simple appointment.
Again, if you wish to visit the studio, enjoy a glass of wine, discuss anything from art to politics, relax in the surrounding landscape, and perhaps even talk business, contact me: feehanartworks@hotmail.com
